IMMUNOSENS is a medtech startup from Osaka University developing compact, quantitative point-of-care testing devices based on its proprietary GLEIA platform. Our main focus is cardiovascular disease management, especially heart failure monitoring using NT-proBNP. At the same time, applications in healthcare fields such as sports conditioning and animal health have already started, allowing us to build real-world use cases before broader medical adoption. By combining medical-grade biomarker testing with a compact and user-friendly device, we aim to bring advanced testing closer to patients, consumers, athletes, veterinarians, and care providers.

Heart failure patients often require continuous monitoring after hospital discharge, but regular biomarker testing is usually limited to hospitals or clinics. In the future, IMMUNOSENS aims to enable patients to measure NT-proBNP at home and securely share the data with physicians, allowing doctors to adjust medication and care plans earlier. This could help reduce avoidable readmissions and improve quality of life. While heart failure remains our core target, our technology is already being applied in sports and healthcare settings, where biomarkers such as salivary sIgA can support daily condition management.

Our proprietary GLEIA technology combines gold nanoparticles with electrochemical immunoassay, enabling compact, sensitive, and quantitative biomarker measurement. Unlike conventional laboratory analyzers, our system is designed for decentralized testing environments such as clinics, home-visit care, sports facilities, and veterinary settings. The platform can measure important medical biomarkers such as NT-proBNP and D-dimer, while also being expandable to non-medical biomarkers used in sports, wellness, and animal health. This flexibility allows us to develop practical use cases in healthcare fields while advancing toward broader medical disease management.

IMMUNOSENS will continue to focus on heart failure management as its core medical opportunity, aiming to support future home-based NT-proBNP self-testing and physician-led remote disease management. In parallel, we will expand earlier-stage applications in sports conditioning, preventive healthcare, and animal health, where adoption can progress more quickly and generate valuable real-world data. Through partnerships with medical institutions, healthcare companies, sports organizations, and animal health players, we aim to build a scalable biomarker platform. Our long-term vision is to make reliable immune and health measurement accessible anywhere, from hospitals to homes.
