COMPANY OVERVIEW

Revascular Bio is an Osaka University spin-off developing innovative cell therapies based on vascular endothelial stem cells (ESCs), a unique stem cell population responsible for blood vessel regeneration. Our proprietary technology aims to restore microvascular function and address diseases with significant unmet medical needs. Our lead program focuses on angiogenic cell therapy for intractable skin ulcers, while we are also developing next-generation therapies for hemophilia and other diseases by leveraging the protein-producing and secreting functions of vascular endothelial cells. Our mission is to maximize the potential of blood vessels and transform patients’ lives worldwide.

SOLUTION

Microvascular disorders are an overlooked but critical healthcare challenge. Microvessels account for more than 95% of the blood vessels in the human body and play an essential role in delivering oxygen and nutrients to tissues. Their dysfunction contributes to many serious diseases, including ischemic stroke and diabetic foot ulcers, yet effective treatments to regenerate damaged microvessels remain unavailable. Our endothelial stem cell (ESC) technology is designed to address this unmet need by regenerating functional microvascular networks, potentially offering a new therapeutic approach for patients suffering from currently difficult-to-treat vascular diseases.

ORIGINALITY

Our endothelial stem cell (ESC) technology is a unique and proprietary platform for vascular regeneration. ESCs are the only cell technology demonstrated to generate functional blood vessels in vivo, distinguishing them from conventional endothelial cells and other cell-based approaches. This vessel-forming capability enables ESCs to directly regenerate damaged microvasculature rather than merely promoting angiogenesis indirectly. Furthermore, our ESC technology is protected by granted substantial patents, providing strong intellectual property protection and a significant competitive advantage. Together, its scientifically validated vessel-forming capacity and robust patent position establish ESCs as a highly differentiated platform for next-generation vascular therapies.

VISION

Our first pipeline program targets intractable skin ulcers, with a Phase 1/2 clinical trial in Japan planned to begin in 2028, followed by expansion into the U.S. market. In parallel, we are advancing our second pipeline program for hemophilia and have initiated advanced preclinical efficacy studies to demonstrate its therapeutic potential. These programs are supported by competitive non-dilutive funding, including grants from AMED and other public funding agencies. Building on this strong foundation, we aim to establish our ESC technology as a global platform for treating diseases caused by microvascular dysfunction and other unmet medical needs.
